Sikinos

Sikinos has too small population – around 240 – that a bus only replaced the mule ride or walk from the port up to the capital in the late 1980s. Almost the same period the new dock was completed. Most of accommodations, shops and taverns are located in the port. Sikinos position, close to Folegandros and Ios, makes it a popular destination for daily cruises and island hopping. The island remains unspoiled and it is ideal for relax away from the crowds.

The best things to do in Sikinos are mainly hiking and swimming, thanks to the island’s unique natural setting. For swimming, the beaches of Agios Georgios and Dialiskari are the best of the island. Moreover, some alternative places to see is the old Monastery of Episkopi and the Folklore Museum.
